About Me:

Hello, I am Anna Caroline Palmer but many call me AC. I was born and raised in Dothan, Alabama. Growing up, I always loved visiting the schools my grandmother and mother worked at. Seeing the ways my family members impacted the lives of their students is the reason was inspired to become a teacher. When I am not enjoying time with my friends, you can catch me at home watching movies.

My Teaching Philosophy:

I believe that all students should be treated with respect reguardless of race, gender, ethnicity, disability status, socioeconmic status, sexual orientation or belief system. Students should feel loved and accepted when they enter into a classroom. The classroom should not just be a place of learning, but a place of personal growth. I will help broaden my student's horizons to expand their knowledge and encourage them to conduct their own research on different issues and cultures. As I also continue to educate myself on my student's cultures and build a meaningful relationship with each student.

I believe that teacher's should educate themselves on how to apply different learning styles into their lessons becasue not all students learn the same way. Every child in my class has great potential and each bring a valid perspective. I am going to make sure that every student of mine understands that in my class they are seen, heard, and loved.

Education:

I graduated from Providence Christian School in my hometown of Dothan , Alabama. I currently am enrolled at Auburn University majoring in Elementrary Education. I am set to graduate in the Spring of 2022. After I graduate, I plan on getting a masters in Counseling and hope to one day become a school counselor.

Employment:

I have worked at Palmer Electric Construction Company and for Dothan Leisure Services at Camp Choctaw. During my employment at Palmer Electric, I had many jobs such as front reception, organizational director, and would run various errands to job sites. When working for Dothan Lesiure Services at Camp Choctaw, I was assigned to a group of ten 6-8 year old girls. I was their supervisor all day Monday-Friday. Not only was I responsible for keeping them entertained, I was also incharge of their physical and emotional safety. This means I not only had to make sure they did not get injured, but that I had to help resolve arguments amongst the group.
